World Economic
Forum Protest
new york 2002
As around a 1000 of the world's most important capitalists meet in
the Waldorf Astoria (having cynically, post 9-11, moved their usual
shindig from Davos, Switzerland to New York
to avoid protests) 20 000 of us took to the streets. We prepared a special set
of A0 sized posters on the links between war, imperialism and capitalism; and
in an atmosphere of extreme intimidation from the media and police, celebratory
images of our power on the streets of Genoa in July.
We then took to the streets of a New York applying slogans to some of the finest
'messages' Capitalism has to offer!
